All you need to know about glass water bottles

For many years safety in the water that we drink has been the primary concern for many organizations. Glass water bottles have been known to meet all the health requirements and maintain the standards and purity of the water. Most manufacturing companies that are involved in glass blowing have been forced to keep up with the changing trends that meet the health standards. It is for this reason also that safe drinking water like other beverages is supplied in glass bottles.

The process involved in the manufacture of unique water bottles is similar to the manufacture of other glass bottles. The process begins with the raw material which is glass. The glass is taken to a glass crasher where both the recycled and the raw glass are crushed into small pieces. The crashed pieces are t he delivered to a furnace where they are melted. The molten glass then goes to the formation section. It is in this section that various shapes and sizes of glass are made. The formation process involves blowing of the molten glass to the desired shape and size.

Once the glass takes the required shape and size it the passes through an annealing oven. An annealing oven helps the glass to cool slowly at regulated temperatures. Rapid cooling of the glass may result to the glass breaking. Although cooling can be achieved with water, once the glass water bottles are subjected to various temperatures it will result to breakage. The breakage of the bottle will not only cause spillage of the water but could also cause severe cut to you.

After the glass water bottle has finally been annealed they undergo a severe physical process of inspection. This inspection is carried out to check for any deformities that may have taken place in between the blowing and the annealing processes. This inspection is carried out by humans. The bottles then pass through a machine and laser inspection. This inspection looks at any minor deformities or damages that the human eye may not detect. The laser inspection also checks for any uneven thickness of the glass wall. Most BPA free glass water bottles are inspected at this point for any presence of contamination that could have bin present in the glass. Impurities in the glass will not only cause the glass to be fragile but are also a severe health risk to the consumer.

The glass bottle is then subjected to a second physical and final inspection. At this point the glass is not only inspected for any irregularities that may have been overlooked but the glass bottles are also sorted at this point. Sorting of the glass bottles is in the various shapes, color and sizes. The sorting is allows the glass to either be packed for delivery or taken through other processes. Packing of environmentally friendly water bottles is mad either in cartons or plastic crates.

Other processes that a glass water bottle may go through include more annealing. This ensures that the bottle is hard and capable of withstanding minor drop. Some of the bottles that undergo such process are the Glass water bottles with silicon sleeve. Another process is Lamination where the glass bottle is covered on the outside by a thin film of plastic. The plastic coat ensures the glass is not only firm but in the event it falls it does not break into many pieces but remains intact.
